Buried Alive

There once was an elderly lady who had been very sick for some time.  She
went into a coma and finally passed away. Her husband of 50 years was
grief stricken and just couldn't accept that she was gone.

After the doctor pronounced her dead, the husband insisted that she was
NOT.  He felt as if he knew her so well, and just knew she was still alive.
He had to be forcibly pried away from his wife's body.

At this time, people were buried in simple plots in the backyard.  As his wife
was being buried, he put up such a fuss that the doctor sedated him.  His
wife was buried and there was nothing he could do about it.

Over the next week, the husband had several nightmares of his wife
desperately trying to claw her way out of the coffin.  Each day he begged
the doctor to have her body removed from the grave, but alas, to no avail.

Finally the doctor gave in and had the local authorities remove the grave.
Upon opening the coffin, they found, to everyone's shock and horror, her
fingernails bent and broken, and scratch marks on the coffin lid.

The Exploding Cactus

This particular scary urban legend has several different variations but all
entail a cactus full of eggs.

A woman goes to a nursery and buys a HUGE beautiful cactus.  She puts it
in her sunroom. Later that day she is admiring her new cactus, but notices
something peculiar.  It appears to be breathing.

The woman calls the nursery and explains what she sees.  The clerk tells
her to get the cactus out of the house "RIGHT NOW!!".  The woman
becomes alarmed, drops the phone and runs to the cactus.

She manages to get the cactus out of the house and into the front yard.  As
she backs away, the cactus begins to almost heave.  Suddenly it explodes
and thousands of baby tarantulas come spewing out.

Fatal Hairdo

Back in the 70's, a very trendy teenager grew tired of all the work and time
it took to create and maintain her extreme beehive hairdo.  So she washed
her hair with sugar water and allowed it to harden in her favorite beehive
style.  At night she would use a special pillow that allowed her to sleep
without disturbing her hair.  She would also wrap a piece of cloth around it
to ensure it held its shape.

One morning the teen failed to come down for breakfast.  Mom went
upstairs to get her out of bed only to find her daughter laying there
dead...having been gnawed to death by rats.
